Step 1: Install and sign in
Download the app, open it, and sign in with your Demodesk account. The app settles into your menu bar or system tray.
Step 2: Click the icon, start recording
Join the call in whichever app you use. Click the Demodesk icon and hit Start Recording. Mic and system audio, both captured.
Step 3: Stop, and let the agents take over
End the recording when the call ends. It syncs to your Demodesk workspace, where the transcript, summary, CRM update and coaching happen on their own.

A few things you might be wondering.

The Demodesk desktop app on macOS and Windows.

: Any call that plays through your computer. The app captures your microphone and the system audio, so Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack huddles, browser-based phone systems and anything else on your screen all work the same way. Nothing needs to be integrated first.
: No. The desktop app records locally on your machine. No participant joins, no name appears in the attendee list. If you would rather have a visible Notetaker that announces itself, use the online meetings recorder instead. Either way, you stay responsible for telling people they are being recorded where consent is required.
: macOS 14.2 (Sonoma) or later on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and Windows 10 or later. There are separate downloads for Apple Silicon, Intel and Windows.
: Microphone access and system audio access. On macOS you grant both in System Settings under Privacy & Security the first time you record. Screen content is not captured, only audio.
: Automatically. When you stop a recording, the app uploads it to your Demodesk workspace, where it shows up next to your online meetings with the transcript, summary and next steps. Your CRM sync and coaching run from there like for any other call.
: Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If the chip line says Apple M1, M2, M3, M4 or newer, download the Apple Silicon build. If it says Intel Core i5, i7 or i9, download the Intel build.
: Yes. The download is free and there is no separate desktop plan. Recording, transcription, CRM sync and coaching run on your Demodesk subscription, so what happens after a recording follows your plan. New to Demodesk? Start a free trial and sign in to the app with the same login.
